About Me

Hi, I’m Nick, and I’m 40 years old. When I was 37, I had a stroke that left me with communication challenges. At first, I couldn’t talk or write, and my reading was painfully slow.

Before my stroke, I was a teacher and a headteacher. Losing my ability to communicate was incredibly hard, especially as a father of two boys.

Now, life is getting back to normal. My speech is still difficult at times, but my reading and writing have improved, and I’m working again. Recovery is a long road, but with every tough month, progress happens—little by little.
